Accessibility Help

This page explains how to use accessibility features offered by Windows, Web Browsers, or LG.COM in order to help users to use LG.COM in a more accessible way. If you are using a keyboard or assistive technologies instead of using a mouse, please select ‘Keyboard Controls’ tab. If you can’t see very well, please select ‘Visually Impaired’ tab. If you can’t hear very well, please select ‘Hearing Impaired’ tab.

Use Bypass Blocks

Once you are on LG.com, press Tab on your keyboard. You will see a link that reads “Skip to Contents”. Press Enter to directly go to main content.

Press Tab on your keyboard twice on LG.com. A link that reads “Skip to Accessibility Help” will appear. Press Enter to directly go to accessibility help.

Use Date Picker

Calendar layer appears whenever an input box with calendar icon is focused. Press Ctrl + Arrow keys on your keyboard to move back and forth in the calendar layer.

If you want to move to the previous or next month, press the page up or page down key.

You can also input the date directly using the numeric key without using the Calendar Layer.

Use Slider

Press Tab key to set focus to the slider and use the Arrow keys to set the slider values.

When using the Screen Reader Program (JAWS or NVDA), press Tab key to set focus to the slider and use the Alt + Arrow keys to set the slider values.

Zoom Function in Internet Explorer (version 10.0 or later)

  1. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to the menu at the top of the browser window and click on 'View'.

  2. From the list of options, click 'Zoom'. You will see a side menu open up.

  3. Select the predefined zoom level, or specify a custom level by clicking 'Custom' and entering a zoom value.

Internet Explorer also allows the text size to be changed with keyboard shortcuts:

  • Press Ctrl and + increase the size
  • Press Ctrl and - decrease the size
  • Press Ctrl and 0 go back to the default size

Zoom Function in Firefox (Current –1)

If you are using Firefox, go to the menu at the top of the browser window and click on 'View'.

From the list of options, click 'Zoom'. You will see a side menu open up.

Select 'Zoom In' option to increase the text size or select the 'Zoom out' option to decrease the text size.

Select 'Reset' to reset to default settings.

Firefox also allows the text size to be changed with keyboard shortcuts:

  • Press Ctrl and + increase the size
  • Press Ctrl and - decrease the size
  • Press Ctrl and 0 go back to the default size

Zoom Function in Chrome (Current –1)

If you are using Chrome, click the Menu icon on the top right.

Click on '–' to zoom out. Click on '+' to zoom in.

Click on '100%' to return to default size.

Chrome also allows the text size to be changed with keyboard shortcuts:

  • Press Ctrl and + increase the size
  • Press Ctrl and - decrease the size
  • Press Ctrl and 0 go back to the default size

Use Magnifier, the Built-in Magnification Feature in Windows

Select 'Ease of Access' in the control panel.

Select 'Ease of Access Center'.

Under the 'Quick access to common tools' header, click 'Start Magnifier'. This will start the magnifier for current use.

The following keyboard shortcuts are available when using Magnifier.

  • Press Windows key and + to zoom in.
  • Press Windows key and - to zoom out.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and F to switch to 'Full-screen' mode.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and Spacebar to preview the desktop in full-screen mode.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and L to switch to 'Lens' mode.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and R to resize the lens.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and D to switch to 'Docked' mode.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and I to invert the colors in the magnification window.
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and Arrow keys to move the focus in the direction chosen.
  • Press Windows key and Esc to exit Magnifier.

Change Background and Text Colors in Chrome (Current –1)

If you are using Google Chrome, you need to install a plug in to change the background colors. A number of accessibility plug ins are available here:

Adjust System Volume

Select ‘Hardware and Sound’ in the control panel.

Select ‘Adjust System Volume'.

Use the volume control to increase or decrease sound to the desired level.

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select 'Vision' in the Accessibility.

Select 'Font' in the Vision.

Adjust Font size.

Touch Zoom

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Vision in Accessibility.

Select Touch Zoom in vision.

By tapping the screen 3 times, you can zoom in or zoom out.

TalkBack

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Vision in Accessibility.

Select TalkBack in vision.

With the activated TalkBack, the selected item is read with a single tap and the button can be activated with double taps.

Screen Color Adjustment

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Vision in Accessibility.

Select Screen Color Adjustment in vision.

Select the option you want.

Hearing Features

Captions

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Hearing in Accessibility.

Select Captions in Hearing.

Select language, font, size, and caption types.

Flash Alert

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Hearing in Accessibility.

Select Flash Alert in Hearing.

Mono Audio

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Hearing in Accessibility.

Select Audio Channel in Hearing.

Select Mono.

Touch Assistant

Select the Accessibility menu of General tab in Settings.

Select Motor & Cognition in Accessibility.

Select Touch Assistant in Motor & Cognition.

Select the button created in the bottom.

Select the button for the action you want.
